Be warned that this page is changing quite fast at the moment - I have a long list of things I want to add to it. It's likely to get into a bit of a mess from time to time until I work out what order to say things in. The Amiga Utilities page will tell you where to find a variety of fundamental Amiga utilities. Some of them, such as lha and installer, are simply vital, and a number of others have effectively become standard parts of the operating system - I should think very few serious Amiga users don't have reqtools.library |

The Amiga system of self testing is a complicated set of routines, which it must go through before you can do any work on it. During the system test the Amiga is attempting to let you know if the system is well. These procedures respond automatically every time you boot up. |

This page is designed to be an archive of articles from the long defunct "Amiga Transactor" magazine. While probably no longer relevant in terms of the direction that the current AMIGA system is heading, these articles do contain some very in-depth info on the Classic Amigas, in many cases written by the hardware designers/programmers themselves. Click on the pics for a scan of the mags, or the links underneath for the articles. Only a couple of articles are online at the moment, but as I get the chance I plan to OCR quite a few more. If you have any copies of old "Transactor" mags that you would like to see added to this archive, send me an email. If anybody objects to these articles being available online, likewise. |

Ok, first off, there are several reasons why I'm writing this. Firstly because I've missed something like this myself, secondly I know a lot of you guys want to code for AmigaAnywhere but haven't because you think it's difficult getting started programming for AmigaAnywhere. Maybe because you haven't programmed before. Maybe you're too lazy to read a lot of documents just to get started. Look for Part 2! |

This site will eventually be a huge source of information for the Amiga Community. The links section has quite a few links already, and the articles page has some imformation, mainly useful to newcomers to the Amiga scene. The box on the left to search Aminet also works, and I have uploaded two Workbench wallpapers to the pics section. We are now also a member of the AmigaRing and have our own forums. |

Welcome to the The Amiga DOS online reference manual. This site is always under construction so please excuse the mess while this site settles in to its new home. Here you will find comprehensive guides to The Amiga Operating System and ARexx scripting language along with technical specifications on the Amiga line of computers, the latest Internet applications for the Amiga, Mirror sites for two of the leading Amiga software developers Phantom Development and Finale Development, and a jump point to other exciting Amiga oriented web sites on the World Wide Web. I would like to thank Mark R. Buechler for hosting this site and getting me away from my old ISP. |

CAPS. Classic Amiga Preservation Society. CAPS, the Classic Amiga Preservation Society, as the name implies, dedicates itself to the preservation for the future of classic Amiga software, namely classic Amiga games. As it is, these games are abandoned and in possession of mainly an ever diminishing community or well willed collectors. These games are detrimentally affected by the passage of time by their storing media, and these Amiga classics, a big part of gaming history, risk being lost forever in the near future. This tragedy must be prevented. CAPS main objective is to guarantee the preservation of such an important part of computer gaming history. |

As Amiga Inc is about to re-enter the computer arena with new AmigaOS4 powered desktop systems as well as with 3rd party embedded products utilizing AmigaDE technology pre-installed, there are a growing number of people who wonder what an advanced classic AmigaOS currently offers. This was an important reason for me to write a simple to understand WinUAE tutorial, so this would hopefully help interested people with setting up a fun and easy to use emulated AmigaOS environment on widely available mainstream Windows computers. This article also includes many WinUAE screenshots and information on acquiring and using freely available software. |
