A2000 Revision 4 Power Supply Unit
  Author:   Verified: Aug 05, 2026   id: 2306
I came into possession of a non-working Amiga 2000 Rev. 4. The power supply let out the magic smoke. Unable to find any documentation online, and knowing that my analog electronics skills are limited, I decided to reverse engineer it to learn something along the way.

  Amiga 1000 – just a casual repair
Author: Retrohax   Verified: Aug 03, 2026   id: 2244
In this rather short post, I’ll show you how I’ve dealt with an iconic Amiga 1000 computer. It was a rather simple job, as the Amiga was in very good shape to start with. The whole job was about cleaning, retrobrighting, fixing minor issues, and that’s it. There is no need to make this particular computer filled with upgrades. Instead, I’ve used an external device, but more on this later.

  Amiga PSU Meanwell RPT-60B
Author: Jani   Verified: Aug 05, 2026   id: 2315
I had two broken Amiga PSUs and wanted to replace the contents with a modern powersupply, Meanwell RPT-60B seem to be used frequently so that was my primary choice. I also wanted to keep the modification nondestructive and found 3D printed mounting brackets to accomplish this. Even though both PSUs had the same partnumber, the innards were not the same and needed two different brackets.

CDTV CDROM CR-511-B Disassembly and Reassembly
Author: Jani   Verified: Aug 05, 2026   id: 2317
This is a guide to disassemble and reassemble the CDROM (CR-511-B) in the Commodore CDTV. My CDTV had issues reading CDs and I had to yank the caddy to get it to eject the disk. The grease in the mechanics had hardened so everything had to be cleaned and relubricated with silicone spray and grease.

Guru Meditation crashes in Amiga emulation: common mistakes
Author: Generationamiga   Verified: Aug 03, 2026   id: 2294
A Guru Meditation error can look dramatic {...} The good news is simple: most Guru Meditation errors in Amiga emulation aren’t random, and they usually don’t mean the emulator is broken. {...} The trick is to stop guessing and give the software the machine it expects.

The "Year 2000 Problem" and the Amiga
Author: Olaf Barthel   Verified: Aug 05, 2026   id: 2338
To make a long story short, the Amiga in general does not suffer from a "Year 2000 Problem" as is commonly referred to in the PC world. Still, the Amiga faces three distinct date problems and a single, specific Year 2000 problem with limited scope. This document shows you how to find out if your Amiga might have a "Year 2000 Problem" and then goes into detail, explaining the technical aspects of the issues and how they may be addressed.
