{{ARCHIVED}} It's almost 25 years since Commodore released the A1000 model that launched the line in the summer of 1985, and with the launch of the X1000 we will usher in a new beginning for the AmigaOS platform. Just as Commodore did with the A1000, we're aiming at the high-end first, with a powerful desktop computer aimed at the professional and serious hobbyist markets (although you won't have to wait until summer, and it should be a little cheaper!) The launch of the A1000 offered something new, and the X1000 will do the same. The world has moved on and custom chips no longer make much sense, but the X1000 offers a customisable chip as standard instead - 'Xena'. |

In my A6000 launch news article, I tried to mention all of the awesome features you get when you purchase this new Amiga from Apollo Team. Then I got e-mails and private chat comments where Amitopia readers asked about various topics regarding the A6000. I got so happy about the activity, and I also hope that the Apollo Team sells lots of A6000s. Perfect timing for launching a new Amiga? Yes, I think so. |

The project replaces the original board with a reverse-engineered Junior motherboard and fits it inside a frosted clear case. This gives the system a fresh look while keeping the classic A600 layout. |

Thirty-one years after Commodore went bankrupt, ceasing development of next-generation Amiga computers, a German Amiga accelerator company steps up. Apollo Computing stepped forward to reveal its “Proper next-gen Amiga” to the masses earlier this week. The German firm has unveiled the Apollo A6000, a comprehensive modern Amiga system featuring advanced technologies, including a “cutting-edge V4 AC68080” FPGA, which makes it the “most powerful Amiga 68k compatible ever created.” |

After several years of hard work, my Amiga floppy drive stopped working leaving me in trouble... do I have to buy a new drive (but several disks are in bad condition too), buy a floppy emulator (nice but expensive for retro fun) ... or try to use my Raspberry PI other than as xbmc player? |

WarpOS/PowerUP for AmigaOS 4. This project is a reimplementation of WarpOS for AmigaOS 4 (work in progress). It's aim is to support all the current flavors of machines running AmigaOS 4 including the X5000. At this moment 95% of all WarpOS functions are implemented. |
